Customer tax categories

By default, ActivityHD considers all customers to be subject to tax. Customer tax categories can be used to group customers for taxability and tax reporting purposes. In particular, you can define customer tax categories to assign a nontaxable status to certain groups of customers. You can also use customer tax categories to group taxable customers for tax reporting using rules defined at the tax rate detail level. For instance, some states require you to report sales and tax collected from certain categories of customers.

You can assign a default tax category on customer records. When an invoice is entered for a customer, the tax category defaults from the customer record but can be overridden when needed.
